about

We heard a chord in the air
Over the far hills and the river
Lingering between the ground and sky
Like invisible fog
I laid down beside this tree
Weeping in a green arch
Given up on the sun
Neither awake nor asleep
In between deference and death
Prostrate beneath the held tone
Exhausted, I said to you
"Each of us like you has died once"
We just can't remember it
A blade of grass, a raindrop in a cloud
Woven through the cycles of the earth
Oscillating memory
Dissolved in the sun's rays
And blown through the wind
Hovering vibrations
Saturated by the passage of time
Entropy modulating like a ripple in a pool
Hidden at the edge these woods
Telling myself to be content that I am here
Nearer to or further from that recurrent moment
I try to be silent, I try to be still, listening for the sound

N.B. - A two-part session from the archives of '22, final glossed and offered here in celebration of Earth Day '24. Made with the Korg Opsix and a sinewave monosynth "pedal bass" in what has come to be thought of as the "old style" of ambient Milieu albums.
