'Snow Maps' follows 2023's 'Dusk Maps' in form and function, although musically offers an entirely different sound and texture. Using the same granular resampling processor that transfigured the Casio MT-210 into 'Dusk Maps' to instead process outtakes from the expansive 'Recurrent Irrigation' sessions with the Moog Subharmonicon, these seven tracks (laid out across two volumes) echo the still and white-coated Winter weather that has held me indoors for the last few weeks. They are presented here with as little pretense or context as possible - simple, pretty and ambient, nothing more or less. Music to curl up with while you dream of sunbeams thawing the sheets of ice and snow.
