[Dustybox Tracks] Ultra-Rare Out Of Print 7x3" Bagged Set [Archive Copy / Spring Cleanout]
Compact Disc (CD) + Digital Album
Upon cleaning out another cluttered box in a basement room next to the studio, I found a number of interesting and unique artifacts from the Milieu Music catalog. Up for sale here is a single copy of the complete Dustybox Tracks EP set, presented in an unissued "bagged set" version with matching artwork different from the individual EPs that were released. This set contains the following releases: MMX001 / MMX002 / MMX003 / MMX004 / MMX005 / MMX006 / MMX007, which includes Milieu remixes of many other artists as well as some otherwise out of print and unavailable remixes of Milieu works by artists such as Lunar Testing Lab, David Tagg, Foamek, Am-Boy, Galerie Stratique, Fieldtriqp and others. No other copies of a complete set with matching art exist, as this concept was abandoned due to the increasing cost of 3" CD-Rs at the time. A treasure trove of remix works, and a totally singular item!
**NOTE: The items listed in the back catalog sale have all been found while unpacking. Some of them have been packed away for years in storage, and may have small imperfections. These are being sold as is, as the artifacts they are, to raise money for implementing the new studio. No refunds will be given.

Originally issued at Archaic Horizon in 2007 as Wasted Magic In The Sound, this collection of Milieu remixes has been refitted to lead the long awaited series of Milieu remix works, Plangent Liqueurs.
For years, remixing has been one of my favorite production activities. It has allowed me the opportunity to repeatedly test out new ideas, while simultaneously challenging myself to mold something new with someone else's sounds. As many of you already know, my remixes have always been so different from their originals that they are basically new pieces, although this is meant with no disrespect to the original artists. Quite the contrary, this decision is made out of respect for them, with my feeling that a carbon copy of anything is just a waste of time. So in many ways, my remixes as Milieu (and subsequently Coppice Halifax) are like islands surrounding the greater landmasses of certain albums from my catalog. For instance, it's easy to hear Three Tone Quintet in the Lumme remix, or New Drugs in the Ascalaphe remix.
At the time this collection was assembled, all of these remixes were pretty rare if not completely unreleased. In the time since then, I've wanted very badly to collect all of the Milieu mixes into an ongoing episodic format, like I've also done with the considerable amount of Coppice Halifax remixes. Like lots of things, plans were made and abandoned numerous times over, so finally it falls to me to bring these tracks back to the surface again - I couldn't be happier. Stick around for subsequent volumes of Plangent Liqueurs, as there are already five in total, with a sixth almost complete.
*EDITOR'S NOTE: I'm aware that all of these tracks, while being my work, exist with the original artists' names on them. Since it's been NINE YEARS (or more in some cases), I have long since lost my contacts with many of these very cool musicians. SO, if one of you has found this release and wants a copy for your contribution to it, PLEASE get in touch with me. It would be great to catch up anyway.

Tigress effortlessly gliding between the stoned, dusty grooves with that instantly identifiable "just behind the beat" bass line - one of my all time favourites amongst many from Brian's myriad milieu of mazey marvels. da5idh
