SANGEAN SEA is another of the very early Vibra sessions that manifested in February of 2020. It utilizes a shortwave radio as the sound input source, which is then sent cascading through numerous modular processors and overlaid multiple times via a Vesta Fire MR-10B four-track tape machine. The resultant sound exists somewhere between an unnatural field recording, and naturalistic noise, offering a wide and deep horizon line of windswept waves and billowing clouds. In musical terms, not a lot happens, but SANGEAN SEA is a literal ocean of texture, filled to the brim with an ecosystem of unseen and unnamed wildlife, submarine plants and coral reefs, sunken vessels and perhaps even crevices so deep that these recordings cannot yet obtain readings that far down...and yet, above the surface of this rippling tidal world, the sun shines across little scribbles of land, perhaps islands or even continents filled with kingdoms and magics, dotting the distance.

Ah its just gorgeous. 3 tracks , each different but with a common thread. Country Low is lovely detuned meta-country style, San Fernando Valley hits you between the eyes, scuzzy. overdriven and yah! Silent Ways wraps stuff up nicely with a drifting, poignant and effective codicil. Top stuff. da5idh
